What is the IMAT?
The International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT) is the official entrance exam required for admission into English-taught degree programs in Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine at public universities across Italy. It is a single, standardized test for all applicants.

Key Dates for 2025
- Exam Date: The IMAT will be held on September 17, 2025.
- Registration Window: Registration opens on August 26, 2025, and closes permanently at 3:00 PM (GMT+2) on September 9, 2025.
Exam Format and Structure
The exam is designed to test a wide range of skills and knowledge.
- Total Time: 100 minutes
- Total Questions: 60 multiple-choice questions, each with five possible answers.

Scoring System
Your final score is calculated out of a maximum of 90 points, using the following method:
- +1.5 points for each correct answer.
- -0.4 points (a penalty) for each incorrect answer.
- 0 points for each question left unanswered.
